Dear Future 6th Grader,
Hi i’m Nancy, what’s your name? Welcome to Claggett Creek Middle school. Since your in sixth grade you are going to see many new things in middle school. This letter is for you to know about what goes on in middle school and how to deal with things. This letter may or may not be useful in your first year of middle school.
Transitioning, a lot of kids are afraid to join middle school, with many reasons but tell you what I was afraid and happy at the same time to join middle school, but turns out middle school isn’t that bad. Here I’ll give you some ideas and let’s see if I can get you on my side. You get to go to a school with three floors, you get to meet a variety of diverse people and you even get to know them and become friends with them, you also get more freedom but you have to use your time wisely.
Important things to know in middle school are : use your time wisely, respect each other, know how to open your locker, know where your classes are located, stay on the right always, and last but not least know all the rules and follow them or else there will be consequences. If you don’t know one of these important things remember it is always okay to ask any one.
In Claggett Creek Middle School you can get tardy’s, referrals, lunch detention and last but not least someone would have to escort you anywhere you go in the school which means they won’t leave your side. Of course you can get expelled or suspended but i’m pretty sure you don’t want to go there.
Before any of your classes you will get a break, but you will have to use your time wisely because your five minuets will go fast. Also, grades, if you get low grades don’t be afraid to show your parents, but things you can do are arrange times with your parents to stay after school and talk with your teacher[s].
Making friends at Claggett can be hard but don’t give up. One of my classmates said “you can hang around your friends friend s’ or “You can go up to people and introduce yourself and make a small talk every day.” Hopefully this letter can help you in your first year of sixth grade.
Sincerely,
Nancy Mendez

Dear 6th Grade Student,
Middle school is almost the same as elementary, but just easier and more freedom.
You will get use to it. I bet you might be freaking out the first week everybody does, but some people don’t really care a few people don’t freak out but that’s not a lot. This note will help you through middle school. It will cover every thing such as Sports, Clubs, Lockers, Lunch, Classes, Teachers, Friends, And Girls/Boys. We will go from easy to hard so lockers come first. They are easy don’t worry about them it just takes practice and patience. It doesn’t have to be perfect all the time you just go Right-Left-Right, now lets move on.
Sports/Clubs are easy you just have to maintain good grades, and work hard in them. To join a sport you have to pay money so don’t quit make sure you like it, some sports/Clubs don’t cost anything. Lets move to Lunch its fun we have long lines but don’t worry the lunch ladies get the lines going pretty fast and you wont have to wait long.
Boys/Girls/Friends they all fit in the same category. Don’t let anyone control you but yourself. Stay focused on your work and worry about friends and crushes later. Remember SCHOOL COMES FIRST!! Now I didn't mean that in a bad way. if you worry about other things like friends or crushes you wont get good grades. If you have problems with crushes or friends talk to a consular. Grades are the hardest part of sixth grade. To have good grades you have to pay attention, and maintain your grade witch means you have to redo or turn in classwork or homework.
Teachers/Consular will help you with problems you have they can also help you with school work and problems you have in class. If you need help you can even ask your teachers. You have to ask or you won't get help acting cool by not asking for help when you really need it you can write them a note or have your parents talk to them over the phone. There is nothing wrong or bad for getting help or asking a question you have. I ask for help and I have really good grades. If you do your best you will make it to high school.
Electronics are not aloud to be out, ring, vibrate, and you cant listen to music. To help you here is what one of my friends said, ”The first couple of days or week you will feel nervous.” I hope you join track, if you do, work hard. I had to work had to have fun. See you there if you do hurdles. I almost forgot if you have Mrs. Jungwirth ask her about, “Christian Mckern”
PS: She is the best math teacher EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! she will tell you about me just wait and see yourself.

Dear 6th grade student,
Congratulations! You made it to middle school. I know at first it might seem scary but middle school isn’t a as bad as you think. Throughout the year things might get hard but that’s okay. It’s normal. There are some things you should know about middle school that I wish I would’ve known about as a 6th grader. My friends and I gathered up our knowledge of 6th grade to share with you. One thing that I wish I would’ve known about is how quick 5 minutes goes by, you really shouldn’t waste your passing time.
I know that the transition into middle school is pretty hard but it’s not that bad. One of my friends said, “If you get lost, it’s okay to ask people for help.” Which is so true, I remember not knowing where any of my classes were on my first day so I had to ask people for help. If you end up struggling with grades it’s okay because there’s always something to do about it. Another classmate of mine says,” If you’re having grade problems stay after school or most importantly talk to your teacher.” Grades are hard to keep up but if you work hard you’ll be fine.
I hope I’ve given you a bit of knowledge of what 6th grade is like. I hope this helps you and remember, middle school isn’t as bad as you think.
Sincerely,
Gracie C.
